Welcome to My World

One week out from the start of my 2014 season and my mind is racing with the anxiety. My training has reached a new level and my knowledge is growing with every second. I have pushed myself beyond all my preconceived boundaries to the point where I’m acutely aware of my every strength…and every weakness. I have found myself surrounded by tremendous support from friends, family, and acquaintances but I have not lost sight that ultimately this is my journey…alone. This week my feet have seen more miles than any other single week of my life. Through cold, through wind, through storms, through pain, through hunger, through fatigue, I have soldiered on down the paths alone with what can only be described as “planned-abandon.”

Welcome to my world

In my world,
The water is cold,
The wind is strong,
And the miles are relentless.

In my world,
Victory is not weighed in gold,
But in determination and courage.

In my world,
There are no boundaries,
No limits,
There is no end.
Every day is the last day of my life,
And the first day to make a change.

In my world,
The word “can’t” does not exist,
And nothing is impossible.

No excuses
